Parent Leader Program

Parent Leaders are individuals who offer emotional and practical support based on personal experience. It’s typical for parents to feel lost or isolated following the birth or identification of a child with different needs. This can be an emotionally difficult time for parents and Parent Leaders can help cast new, hopeful visions for parents. Sharing experiences and expanding visions of what is possible can inspire higher goals for children with hearing differences.

Ways that Parent Leaders can offer support:

  • Social-Emotional support

  • Self-Care and coping

  • Peer-to-Peer interactions

  • Community connections

  • Personal growth and self-advocacy empowerment

  • Networking and referrals
